Cynthia Bloom’s jewelry design intention is to create brilliant playgrounds of color and light. While crystals and antique beads supply sparkle and pressed glass buttons add iridescent shimmer, she also loves to explore the elemental luster of natural gemstones and freshwater pearls.

“I want things to be unique in my collection,” Cynthia states. She searches for gemstones of “beautiful character and distinct finishes” — “the types of things not necessarily mainstream in anyone else’s collection.“ She also looks for freshwater pearls with “gorgeous nacre and sheen.”

By integrating the pearls, gemstones, crystals, and antique beads, Cynthia’s creations capture a delightful, dramatic interplay of light, color, and texture “going on simultaneously within each one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry.”
